1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

3/4 cup warm milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tbsp red food coloring

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough
    Warm milk and yeast should be combined in a bowl.
    Set the mixture aside for 5 minutes until it becomes foamy. Stir together the dough ingredients: melted butter, sugar, egg, cocoa powder, purpose flour, red food coloring, and salt.
    Stir until combined. Before adding the wheat flour, blend it slowly until it develops a smooth dough texture.
    After the dough enters a greased bowl one must cover it for 1-hour until the volume doubles in size.
  • Step 2: Make the Filling
    A mixing bowl contains brown sugar combined with cinnamon.
    Take the dough and shape it into a rectangular form then apply softened butter directly on the surface.
    Cover the butter layer evenly with the prepared cinnamon-sugar mixture.
    Perform the following process to roll and cut the dough.
    Unspool the dough into a circular shape.
    Unfold the rolls into equal pieces before placing them into a baking dish that has been adequately greased.
    Place the baking dish under an oven cloth for another 30 minutes of rising time
  • Step 3 : Bake the Cinnamon Rolls
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    They need between 20 and 25 minutes to bake until the rolls become golden brown.

    Blend butter and cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture turns smooth. Put the frosting on top of warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
