2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)

½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk (or plant-based alternative)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace First, ensure your environment is right. Try to tidy the environment, place a candle, or even burn a stick of incense so that the surroundings remain positive. This will even make the process to be quite magical.
  • Step 2: Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, mixing the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Of course, you must give it a good mix to ensure that all the different products are properly incorporated. This step assures the cook that their cookies come out well-baked.
  • Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugar In another bowl, using an electrical hand beater, the butter and the sugar should be beaten until they become light in colour. This is the step necessary for making soft, sweet cookies.
  • Step 4: Add Wet Ingredients , To the butter mixture, add the egg, vanilla extract and milk. Stir till all the Dry ingredients are fully incorporated into the wet ingredients.
  • Step 5: Combine and Chill. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring as you go. Mix until you attain a fine consistency of workability for the dough. The dough, likewise, should be wrapped with plastic and left to rest inside the refrigerator for about thirty minutes. This causes the dough to stiffen or become firm, making it easy to manage when chilling.
  • Step 6: Shape and Bake If using an oven, it is advisable to preheat the oven to 350°F ( 175°C). On a surface dusted with flour, knead the dough and make the designs you want using moulds of moons. Meanwhile, spread the shapes on a baking tray with the help of parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 min, and when the edges become golden brown.
  • Step 7: Cool and Decorate. When ready to decorate, allow the cookies to cool for some time. Alternatively, you can start with icing, edible glitter, or any symbol you have in mind for why you would like to celebrate the order. Enjoy this step and make as many of them as you wish to be rather mystical!
