  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven
    Coat a 9-inch springform pan with grease and place parchment paper on the bottom to ensure easy release.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Sugar Mixture
    Combine the granulated sugar and lemon zest in a small bowl, mixing them thoroughly. Rub the zest into the sugar with your fingers to release its oils and create a fragrant mixture.
  • Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugar
    In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. Add the lemon-sugar mixture and vanilla extract and mix until fluffy.

    Add the eggs one at a time to the mixture, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. The batter may look slightly curdled, but it will smooth out.
  • Step 5: Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients
